Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Namirembe Guesthouse website and services. By accessing our website or making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using this website, creating an account, or making a reservation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Booking & Reservations

• All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation.
• Prices are displayed in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
• A valid credit/debit card or mobile money account is required to secure a booking.
• Group bookings of 5 or more rooms must be made at least 7 days in advance.
• Special requests (e.g., room location, bed type) are accommodated where possible but are not guaranteed.

3. Cancellation & Refunds

Standard Cancellation

• More than 72 hours before check-in: Full refund
• 24-72 hours before check-in: 50% refund
• Less than 24 hours or no-show: No refund; first night charged

Peak Season & Events

During peak seasons (December-January, Easter) and major events, stricter cancellation policies may apply. These will be communicated at the time of booking.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed within 7-14 business days via the original payment method.

4. Check-in & Check-out

• Check-in: From 14:00 (2:00 PM)
• Check-out: By 11:00 (11:00 AM)
• Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
• All guests must present a valid government-issued ID (national ID or passport) at check-in.

5. House Rules

• Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
• Excessive noise is not permitted between 22:00 and 06:00.
• Pets are not allowed on the premises.
• Guests are responsible for any damage to guesthouse property during their stay.
• The guesthouse reserves the right to refuse service or ask guests to leave if these rules are violated.
• Visitors must register at reception. Overnight visitors are not permitted without prior arrangement.

6. Conference & Events

• Conference bookings require a 30% non-refundable deposit to secure the venue.
• Full payment is due 7 days before the event date.
• Rescheduling is permitted up to 14 days in advance, subject to availability.
• External catering is not permitted; all food and beverage must be arranged through our kitchen.
• The organiser is responsible for any damage caused by attendees.

7. Dining & Room Service

• Room service orders are available to checked-in guests only.
• A 10% service charge applies to all room service orders.
• Menu items and prices are subject to change without notice.
• Guests with food allergies should inform our staff before ordering.
• Orders placed via the online system are final once confirmed.

8. Limitation of Liability

Namirembe Guesthouse shall not be liable for:

• Loss or theft of personal belongings (a safe is provided in each room)
• Service interruptions caused by events beyond our control (force majeure)
• Issues arising from third-party services (airport transfers, tour operators)
• Indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of our website

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website -- including text, images, logos, design and code -- is the property of Namirembe Guesthouse and is protected by copyright law. Reproduction, distribution or modification without written consent is prohibited.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Kampala.
